About Us

Animal Chiropractic

A healthy spine is indicative of a healthy nervous system but that doesn’t mean it’s too late for old and arthritic spines! Every being has the innate ability to heal when the body is free of interference.

Chiropractic plays a vital role in animal health, by locating the main areas of stress on the body, and releasing these with quick, gentle, and specific adjustments into the joint to allow the body to heal as it should.

The following are some of the symptoms and issues that our clients have presented with that have been resolved with chiropractic care. Please note, this list is not exhaustive and chiropractic treatment does not replace veterinary care.

  • Crying out when getting up
  • Difficulty climbing stairs or getting into cars
  • Flinching, spasming or other signs of discomfort when stroked on their backs
  • A reluctance to exercise
  • Stiffness or pain after exercise
  • Lameness after a fall or accident where alternative diagnoses have been ruled out
  • Uncharacteristic changes in behaviour, performance or temperament
  • Limb-dragging, or odd, irregular action
  • Recurrence of symptoms previously improved by chiropractic treatment
  • Rehabilitation after acute trauma for dogs, cats and other small animals
  • Lack of improvement through conventional methods

These are all signs and symptoms that your pet is in a state of “dis-ease” meaning a ‘lack of ease’.

Sports Club Group Sessions

Team work makes the dream work. Sometimes our companions experience a block in their progress and may need some blockages removed in order to get to propel to the next level. Have your teams spinal health checked at a discounted rate.

We value transparency. So, if we find your pet doesn’t need a chiropractic adjustment, we will tell you and may offer advice instead. If we find your pet would benefit from an adjustment we will explain the reasons and benefits of chiropractic care during the appointment.

Reiki

Reiki (meaning universal life force energy)is a natural and holistic energy healing treatment that works with the mind-body connection. Like us, animals living in the modern world encounter physical, chemical and emotional stress that can cause dis-ease and dysfunction in the body. A fundamental premise of reiki healing is that the body is supremely intelligent and is constantly seeking to bring the body back into balance (homeostasis). Reiki helps the body to restore its natural state of balance by stimulating the body’s parasympathetic nervous system (also known as the ‘rest and digest’ state). The reiki therapist is a channel for this energy to flow to the patient, by placing their hands on, or slightly above, the seven main chakras. Chakras are the body’s energy centres, which regulate certain parts and organs of the body, and process the healing to support the body’s ability to heal.

When reiki is given the patient’s body often responds to indicate areas that require healing, which can be felt as sensations of heat in the therapist’s hands. Any such feedback will be shared with you during your pet’s appointment. Please be aware that reiki is not a diagnostic tool and therefore this is intended to provide a helpful insight and not a diagnosis.

As a holistic and gentle therapy, working with the whole body, reiki is suitable for animals of all species, breeds, and ages and compliments veterinary treatment. It is a versatile form of therapy which we tailor to the unique needs of your pet both in terms of the treatment and the appointment location. Reiki can be given in person, either with hands on, or hands off from a respectful distance. Hands off healing is ideal for animals that may be nervous, unsure, or not comfortable being touched. Appointments are available at our animal clinic in Finchampstead, Berkshire, or within the comfort of your home. Reiki can also be given remotely which is a brilliant option for pets living out of the area, or where a home visit or travel to the clinic may not be suitable for them. Please see our Booking section for details.

Reiki can also be very beneficial for your pet even if they are happy and well and not showing any symptoms. It is suitable for pets of any age. This is due to it being a natural, non invasive, treatment that supports the body in maintaining homeostasis and supporting healthy functioning.

Reiki can help your pet in the following ways:-

 Create a feeling of relaxation and calmness
 Promote emotional and hormonal balance
 Reduce stress, anxiety and enhance sleep quality
 Alleviate pain and discomfort
 Enhance the body’s ability to recover from illness, injury or surgery
 Increase comfort in pet’s that are terminally ill or nearing end of life
 Maintain a good state of health and wellbeing

When giving reiki treatments, the healing takes priority and with your permission I will ask your pet if they would be happy to engage in communication. Some pets are very talkative, and keen to talk, whereas others are a little more private and reserved. If they do not wish to talk then reiki healing will still be given.

Communication

Being an animal communicator, or animal whisperer, as it is more commonly known is the ability to talk to animals or to understand how an animal is feeling, or the message they are trying to convey. Communications between animals are often non-verbal as they communicate on a telepathic level sharing visions in the mind, and having a sense of knowing, often described as a ‘sixth sense.’ An animal communicator uses the same means of communication and can facilitate a conversation between you and your pet.

For in person appointments reiki and communication are combined. Appointments for animal communication without reiki are available on a remote basis.

Natasha

Although there was no defining moment that Chiropractic ‘found’ Natasha she believes that becoming a Chiropractor was predestined, and a natural progression from childhood when her father, a plasterer, would ask her to stand on his back to alleviate the spinal tension caused by his work.

Natasha was exposed to chiropractic from an early age, when her parents visited Chiropractors for pain relief and even took her as a child for wellness care. A seed was sown, and this led Natasha onto her path as a Chiropractor, qualifying as a human chiropractor, in 2016 and going on to develop her skills for the treatment of animals with IAVC in 2018.

Natasha has always had a keen interest in living a vitalistic lifestyle and can’t imagine raising a family without the wonders of Chiropractic.

Outside of the clinic Natasha is kept busy with her young daughter and two very high energy dogs; an Italian Greyhound and his son; a Whippet cross!

Dominique

Animal reiki therapist, communicator, and life long animal lover; Dominique takes care of the energy healing and communication side of things.

From an early age Dominique enjoyed being around animals, growing up with dogs, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, and was lucky enough to have a horse when she was younger. She has always been sensitive to the needs and autonomy of animals, with an awareness that our communication with them is not solely verbal. She said goodbye to the corporate world to work with animals, attaining her Reiki I training in 2019, completed Reiki II in 2022 and graduated from the Animal Healing and Communication Diploma with Animal Healing Organisation in 2025. She has also worked with horses, and practices Equine Massage.

Dominique cares deeply about all animals, believing that every living creature should be treated with kindess and respect. She enjoys working with both large and small animal clients across a range of species. All species of animal can benefit from energy healing or communication, as all living creatures have a body, soul, and individual experiences that are unique and important to them.

Dominique has a particular passion for exotics and rescue animals. With a wonderful animal family made up of two overseas rescue dogs, four ferrets, and ex-bat chickens. She has volunteered at the British Hen Welfare Trust and Wildlife Aid Foundation, and has used the skills acquired there to look after poorly pigeons in her spare time.
